Blog!

This little paragraph always puts a date below it, which is confusing, because it may make the reader think that I have not added anything to this section since that date (even more confusing - I just updated this paragraph, and it automatically put yesterday's date as the date of the update!). But that date is the date that the preceding text was entered (or possibly one day prior). Dig?

The Spring Tour was (mostly) wonderful! Many thanks to all the fans, the House Concert hosts, and the venues in eastern US that support live music. The tour was a success despite having a career-high number of cancellations, which is not something that most musicians will advertise on their websites, but I'm just being real. There were 6 cancellations on the tour, 3 of which I was able to rebook. I believe my previous one-tour high was 3 cancellations, so you can imagine how frustrating this was. It's something that happens (all-too-regularly, in my opinion), and I've come to expect 2-3 cancellations per tour. Sometimes it's due to the unforeseen and unavoidable: sever weather, family emergencies, etc. But double-bookings and lack of thorough record-keeping are more often the issue, unfortunately. Most venues do what they can to make things right (usually having both acts play if it's a double-booking, paying the guaranteed fee even if the show was cancelled), but not always. I've cancelled 4 shows in over 20 years of performing: once due to food poisoning, once due to a tornado watch (the venue was still open!?), once because my van was being repaired and the person repairing it did not get it back to me by the agreed date, and once because of a scheduling mix-up that wasn't of my doing.

This is just a small peek into the life of a professional musician. I think a lot of people think that I spend my days playing guitar (or other instruments), singing, recording, and writing songs. But the truth is that I'm mostly doing work to book concerts. That work doesn't earn anything until the show is performed, so cancellations sting in more ways than one.

I'm in between tours now, but the Summer Tour will begin in a little over a month! I'm still booking concerts for the Summer Tour (and Fall, and Spring 2026, and even have a concert scheduled for October of 2026). If you are interested in hosting a House Concert or have a favorite venue that you'd like me to perform at, send an email out to booking@jeffmilleronline.com

House Concerts are my favorite type of show, but local recommendations (I typically tour the eastern US) are also very helpful, and more reliable than my web searches or cold calls from hundreds of miles away!

Well, I'm not much closer to making this be the blog section. In fact, the only way that I was able to get text to go in this section (creating the section was not difficult) was to copy the nonsense AI-generated blueberry bagel paragraph below, duplicate it here, and then edit the text. Some day I will understand things, and this website will enter the 2010s.

Oh, hey! The Spring Tour is about to begin. It all kicks off in SW VA on March 19th, and concludes in Lexington, KY on April 19th. In between those dates, I'll do a lot of stuff, but mostly: 1) driving, 2) sleeping, 3) playing music, 4) setting up my PA, and 5) eating. I'm still trying to lock in some dates in the almost-square state of Ohio. I'm allowed to say that because I grew up in an almost-rectangular state, and currently live in an almost-parallelogram state.

This might be where the blogs go...

In the meantime, enjoy this AI-generated nonsense:

Spreading cream cheese on a blueberry bagel is a delightful breakfast treat. The smooth and creamy texture of the cream cheese perfectly complements the soft and slightly sweet blueberry bagel. As you take a knife and gently spread the cream cheese onto the warm bagel, you can already anticipate the burst of flavors that await your taste buds. The tanginess of the cream cheese adds a pleasant contrast to the juicy bursts of blueberry flavor in every bite. The act of spreading the cream cheese across the bagel's surface is a satisfying task, watching as it smoothly covers every nook and cranny. With each bite, the combination of the rich cream cheese and the fruity blueberries creates a harmonious and indulgent breakfast experience.
